Frequently Asked Questions

What better way to learn more about direct medical practices and Anchor Medical Clinic than by reading the most common questions our patients had before enrolling in our practice? If you don't find your question answered here, call us - (425) 347-1666. We want to hear from you because your health is important to us!

Q. I can't find doctors who will see me with no insurance. Can you help me?
A. Yes, we welcome patients with and without health insurance.

Q. I'm really frustrated. I can't get a hold of my doctor or his nurse for prescription refills, or to get questions answered. How will it be any different at your clinic?
A. We know how important it is to you, our enrolled patient, to have your needs met quickly. Dr. Rendall strives to respond within 24-48 business hours of your call (often the very same day). However, if she is delayed due to an emergency, we will let you know.

Q. Can I meet with Dr. Rendall before committing to a direct program?
A. Yes! Because we view our relationship with you as a trusted partnership, we believe it's vital that the partnership is a "good fit." Dr. Rendall welcomes the opportunity to meet with you and learn about your concerns. During this free meeting, please know that diagnosis, tests or other services will not be performed.

Q. My employer cut back on our health care benefits and there's a chance they'll drop it completely. What can I do?
A. We know the stress and worry you're feeling. Our direct medical practice is designed to provide the access to health care you and your family need at an affordable cost while building a personal relationship with your doctor.

Q. What services are included in the monthly fee?
A. Most of the medical care that people generally need:

  • Annual exams including gynecological/pap
  • Routine office care
  • Minor surgical procedures done in-office
  • Referrals to specialists
  • Routine office lab actually performed in-office and drawing blood for an outside lab)
  • Electrocardiograms (ECG or EKG)
  • Home visits when circumstances warrant them
  • 24-hour access directly to a doctor by phone

Q. Why should I pay extra for your care when my insurance pays for regular visits at most doctors' offices?
A. Many people don't realize how much their care in other offices truly costs them, even with insurance. Add up yearly deductions, co-pays, loss of work, to make multiple visits to take care of different problems, and out-of-pocket expenses for services excluded by your policy (such as physical exams with Medicare and some private policies), etc. Try looking back at your premiums and out-of-pocket expenses for last year, and then look at what your insurance company actually paid for.

Q. Will my insurance reimburse my monthly fee?
A. No, however, if you have a Health Savings Account it may cover the direct fee.

Q. What about lab, X-ray and specialty fees?
A. There is no charge for us to draw the lab or make referrals but all outside services through our Service Provider Network will be billed directly to your insurance, Medicare or you if you do not have insurance.

Q. If Dr. Rendall is out of the office, say on vacation or handling an emergency, is there another doctor I can see?
A. Yes, because we have working relationships with other locally-based medical practices. The doctors share our passion to provide exceptional yet affordable health care without the hassle of insurance.

Upon her return, Dr. Rendall will stay abreast of your condition by reviewing with the doctor your visit including treatments, prescriptions, etc.

Q. What is the financial advantage of this type of practice over a standard one?
A. We can eliminate the significant overhead required to bill insurance companies. This allows us to provide most of your office care for much less overall cost than most clinics.
